Testigo de cargo

London, 1947. A terrible crime has taken place in the fog that envelops the city at dusk. A lonely widow has been stabbed to death in her mansion. The only suspect is Leonard Vole, an attractive hustler who had a strange friendship with the deceased. To everyone’s surprise, the famous, veteran and relentless lawyer Sir Wilfrid Robarts agrees to defend the accused. He faces a practically impossible case. The suspect’s only alibi falls apart when his own wife testifies against him. Romaine Vole, the wife, claims that on the night of the murder her husband returned home in the early hours of the morning with his hands and clothes covered in blood. After this unexpected “witness for the prosecution”, the trial seems set for sentencing. However, Sir Wilfrid Robarts has not yet said the last word.
