In April 1974, the Carnation Revolution breaks out. Three young Spanish students, Violeta, Javier and Ramón, travel to Lisbon to experience the birth of democracy in the neighbouring country first-hand. 50 years later, Javier visits Violeta with a bunch of carnations. Ramón, her partner, has just passed away. The meeting starts badly. They have not seen each other for 40 years and they have resentments and silences. He arrives ready to reveal what he has kept quiet, what he does not imagine is all that she hides. The past unfolds: betrayals and loves, political ambitions and lost utopias. Yesterday and present are intertwined, as are the personal and the political.
