El camino a la Meca, by Athol Fugard, is inspired by a real woman, Helen Martins, who rebelled against all the norms of her time. A being who pursues desire, the light of inspiration that does not correspond to any age or generation. Someone who prefers questions to certainties, who values ​​her freedom and her autonomy facing her time and the world around her. When reading it, I hear Lola’s voice beating in each text. Without transcendence, the desire to live freely and to do so intensely floats in the air. We wanted to form a cast with which the journey would be enriching and pleasant, because we all feel that this will be a completely transformative experience.
