Concierto para el alma

On December 15th, the Teatro Principal in Alicante will be the stage for the Solidarity Cultural Marathon “United for Culture, United for Valencia”. A unique event that aims to raise funds for the victims of the torrential rains of the DANA in Valencia, a tragedy that has seriously affected many families. Throughout the day, artists from Alicante and the province join this cause, offering their talent in a day full of culture and solidarity. The Youth Orchestra of the Province of Alicante, under the direction of Francisco Maestre, will offer a repertoire composed of works by Schubert, Dvorak, Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Korsakov with the participation of 85 musicians.

Its list of awards is impressive. Three international first prizes at the Summa Cum Laude Young Orchestra Festival in Vienna, being the only orchestra to achieve them. In addition, with a special project in which they will represent Spain in the celebrations of the 200th anniversary of the birth of J. Strauss in July 2025 at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and at the Musikverein in Vienna.

The Youth Orchestra of the Province of Alicante, created in 2009, is the result of the passion for classical music of a large group of young people led by its principal conductor, Francisco Maestre. The purpose of the OJPA is for young musicians to perfect and complete their musical preparation within the orchestra, and at the same time, have the opportunity to learn from the prestigious soloists and teachers who have been accompanying them in their performances.
