Così Fan Tutte
Così fan tutte (Ossia La scuola degli amanti) is a comic opera in two acts with music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and an Italian libretto by Lorenzo da Ponte. Così fan tutte premiered in Vienna on 26 January 1790. The action takes place in Naples at the end of the 18th century and deals with the fidelity of women. Two men test their fiancées by disguising themselves and changing partners; they want to see if, as the title suggests, they all do that. The work examines the question of infidelity in Mozart’s time.
