In Retorno al hogar, Pinter -an irreverent and provocative author if ever there was one- portrays with the utmost crudeness the thousand and one contradictions and tensions between a widowed father who lives with two of his children, now adults, and a brother. The arrival of the eldest son, apparently the winner of the family, with his wife, unleashes all the winds of a storm caused by a suffocating and oppressive atmosphere caused by mutual envy and contempt among all the members of the family clan.
