Todos pájaros

In this work, Wajdi Mouawad, a Lebanese-born author and a central figure on the European scene, describes the feelings and pains of the enemy in a tense atmosphere surrounded by attacks. The action takes place mainly in Israel, a land of strife; it is set in a unique context: a wave of suicides by young men and women in love affects the entire country. These Israeli-Palestinian couples are doomed to find their love impossible and so decide to kill themselves in protest. The work shows the contrasting feelings between the cultural heritage received, parent-child love, the hatred generated by a hostile environment and the acceptance of one’s own identity.
