Una cuestión de formas

Adam, a somewhat boring and unremarkable boy, works in his spare time as a museum guard in a small university town. One day he meets Evelyn, an attractive, temperamental and transgressive art student dedicated body and soul to preparing the final project for her thesis. They begin an intense love relationship that revolutionizes Adam’s conventional world (who will be willing to change any trait of her person for her). However, his physical and emotional transformation soon affects his friendship with Jenny and Philip and leads to unexpected consequences for everyone.

Esther Acebo (“La Casa de Papel”), Bernabé Fernández, Lluvia Rojo (“Cuéntame”) and Chema Coloma star in Una Cuestión de Formas (The Shape of Things), by Neil LaBute, one of the most recognized enfants terribles of the scene and American independent cinema. Premiered and directed in 2001 by himself at the Almeida Theater (the most prestigious theater in London), it is his most complex and fascinating work, a brilliant black comedy (with a surprising ending), superbly constructed and dialogued, which revolves around to the world of appearances, image and manipulation in human relationships. With corrosive and politically incorrect humor, “youth comedy” has rarely reached such an incisive and controversial level.
